DemiWeb, Virtual Research Laboratories for Agriculture and Science, is a website being developed that will allow you to interactively explore how plant pests, their transmission vectors, and the environment affect plant host growth. It is being developed by DeMilia Research LLC, a family owned and operated small business that develops web based computer software applications for agricultural pest management. Whether you are a scientist or just want to pretend to be one, create your own virtual research laboratory on the World Wide Web. Interactively explore how plant pests, their transmission vectors, and the environment affect plant host growth. Time lapse photography will be enhanced with computer animation to create realistic simulations powered by the DemiAg Expert System for Agricultural Pest Management.

Enter into our cyberspace playground where kids and adults alike can conduct simulations of plant pests outbreaks under different weather conditions. Kids can pretend to be a plant pathogen in online games. Students can learn about Integrated Pest Management practices. Home gardeners can experiment with organic growing practices. Farmers can create what-if scenarios to prepare themselves for real world situations. Agricultural researchers can develop and test their own plant pest forecast models to be integrated into DemiAg. Scientists can examine the life cycles of living organisms virtually. There will be something here for everybody.

DemiWeb is our big fun project accompanied by a bunch of tiny ones. How can one agricultural researcher and his family do all this? We can't! DeMilia Research LLC is creating a seed and planting it, but we do not know what it will grow into. DemiAg is an open source project with a twist and the DemiWeb virtual reality environment will be one of its modules. DemiAg will eventually be released to hopefully hundreds of other computer programmers and scientists who will contribute to them using data provided by hopefully thousands of users like yourself. Other open source projects consist of computer software with its source code made available and licensed in which the copyright holder provides the rights to study, change and distribute the software to anyone and for any purpose. The problem is that DemiAg will rely upon a huge knowledge base of data that will be too big to simply be copied and run in isolation. The plan for DemiAg is to disseminate the source code in the typical open source manner as extensible modules while the knowledge base of data is distributed in mirrored nodes hosted by network servers across the internet. DeMilia Research LLC is currently creating the base module open source code release, laying the foundation for the DemiAg knowledge base nodes, and creating a front end user interface available to the public. The DemiWeb virtual reality environment will be an alternative user interface for DemiAg that is used for fun rather than business. We plan on letting all those software game developers have a crack at it once we get the initial features up and running...we'll see what happens! In addition to this complicated virtual reality project, there will be all sorts of simple fun stuff and educational information.

The DemiWeb virtual research laboratories and your other personal account features are accessed through your personal dashboard. If you already have a DeMilia Research account, then you can create an instance of DemiWeb's virtual reality environment after it goes live and purchase products through the shopping cart. If you do not have a free DeMilia Research account, then you can register for one. Kid's games, student resources, and other fun stuff will be available for use without a DeMilia Research account so that they can play anonymously.

Coming soon. Welcome to our initial website release. Our databases, shopping cart, and other advanced site features are currently in development. Content for most of our informational pages are still being written and currently exist in limited form. Kid's games and student resources will start to be delivered in 2017. Virtual reality features coming in the distant future. Before we can start development, we first need to get DemiAg up and running for a few growing seasons. We also still need decide upon a virtual reality platform.
